Koh Phi Phi to Maya Bay
How To Get There
If you’re looking for the best way to get from Koh Phi Phi to Maya Bay, you’re in luck! There are a few options available, and I’ll discuss them below.
Option #1
The first option is to book a boat tour that takes you from Koh Phi Phi to Maya Bay. This is the most popular option because it’s convenient and easy (no driving required), but it does cost more than other modes of transportation. The boats are covered with tarpaulins so you can stay dry during your ride, and they usually come with a tour guide who explains everything along the way. The downside is that this tour only lasts about an hour—you can’t really spend much time exploring once you get there. And while it may sound like fun to speed through the water at high speeds on a boat that looks like something out of Pirates of the Caribbean, be warned: many tourists have reported seasickness as a result of these tours!
Option #2
Another option is to take a ferry from Ao Nang or Krabi Town directly over to Koh Phi Phi. This will take longer than taking a boat tour because ferries don’t make very frequent stops at either destination (they only stop when someone purchases tickets). However, this method does allow for more time to explore both islands. You can also choose which island you want to visit first by choosing one of the two ports.
If you decide to go with this option, here are some things to keep in mind:
• Ferries do not run every day; check ahead before booking a ticket.
• It costs less to buy a round-trip ticket between the two destinations rather than buying separate tickets for each leg of your trip.
• Be aware that ferries sometimes require passengers to wear life jackets.
• Bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and plenty of drinking water.
• Some ferries offer free shuttles from the pier to your hotel, but others charge a fee.
• Most ferries leave around 8am and return around 5pm.
