Best Location to See the Sunset on Koh Phi Phi Island

Koh Phi Phi is a small island in Thailand. It’s known for its beautiful beaches, nightlife and sunsets. The sunset changes every day, so you’ll want to check it out at different times of day! There are many places to watch the sunset on the island, such as viewpoints and beaches (with or without a beach cocktail). Here are some tips on where to go for great views:

Viewpoints

Viewpoints are the best place to see a sunset on Koh Phi Phi Island. They’re typically located on a hill, and can be reached by either foot or car. Often, they’re at the end of long roads that wind through small villages before reaching the viewpoint itself.

The Loh Dalum Beach

Loh Dalum Beach

One of the most popular places on the island, Loh Dalum Beach is a must-see if you’re looking for a great view of the sunset. Just beyond its shores, you’ll find a bar and restaurant where you can get drinks while enjoying the view. If you don’t want to sit in chairs and tables, there are hammocks and swings that are perfect for relaxing with your feet up! If it’s too hot outside, take a dip in the water from one of two piers at this beach.

Maya Bay

Maya Bay

Maya Bay is a beautiful beach located on the east coast of Koh Phi Phi Don, Thailand. The bay is surrounded by limestone cliffs and has a small sandy area on its shoreline. The bay is not very big so it gets crowded with tourists during the high season.

There are no facilities at Maya Bay, but you can swim in the clear blue waters with fish swimming around you! However, there is no lifeguard so be careful not to get caught in the current or dragged out into sea when swimming near Maya Bay.”

Monkey Beach

Monkey Beach

Monkey Beach is a popular sunset spot, but it’s not the only one.

There are monkeys on Monkey Beach! The beach itself is small with soft sand and shallow water, making it a great place to take a dip after the long day in the sun. There are also monkeys hanging out here (hence the name), so keep an eye out for them if you’re wary of having monkey-on-monkey violence break out while you’re enjoying your beach time.

The best place to watch from up above is at Hat Kai Mook viewpoint across from Phi Phi Don town and next to Maya Bay. It’s easy enough to climb up here once you’ve found it; just follow signs for “bird watching.” In case you don’t know what birds look like yet, we’ll tell you: they’re birds.

Longtail Boat Sunset Tours

Longtail Boat Sunset Tours

If you want to see the sunset but don’t want to walk, then I would recommend taking a longtail boat sunset tour. Longtail boats are very affordable and they will take you out to the perfect location with amazing views. The best part is that they will pick you up from your hotel!

You can do this as a group or alone and it’s totally worth it. You’ll have time for pictures before and after, which is always fun if there are other people on board with you who enjoy photography like I do!

Koh Phi Phi Viewpoint

Koh Phi Phi Viewpoint

The viewpoint on the north side of Koh Phi Phi offers a great view of the sunset, but it can get crowded. The viewpoint is about 100 meters from where you catch your boat to Phi Phi Don (more commonly known as Long Beach), so it’s not far from where most people leave their boats after a long day at the beach and head back home.

The view here is really good and it has been set up with benches so that you can sit down while watching the sunset and taking in all that beauty. There’s also a small pavilion with tables where they sell drinks and snacks, which is nice if you want to stay longer after sunset or if you just need somewhere to rest your feet before heading back home at night time.

If there are too many people around when we arrive, we usually just walk 20-30 meters further south until we get away from them all – then wait for another group of tourists coming over next!

Bamboo Bar Koh Phi Phi

Bamboo Bar Koh Phi Phi

The Bamboo Bar is the best place on the island to catch an incredible sunset. Located just past Maya Bay, this bar sits on a cliff that overlooks the Andaman Sea, making it an ideal spot for watching the sun dip into the horizon and disappear.

If you arrive early enough, you can grab a seat inside (there are no seats outside), but there’s still plenty of space outside if you prefer to have your feet in sand as opposed to against gravity-defying bamboo-woven walls.

The bar serves up everything from cocktails, beer, wine and champagne—plus an impressive selection of food if you want to enjoy dinner during your sunset experience!

Best Time to See a Sunset

The best time to see a sunset is around 6 pm (you’ll know when this is because all signs will point towards it). The best time for catching both sunsets and sunrises depends on where exactly on Koh Phi Phi Island you’re located; however, from most locations these occur within 30 minutes or so before/after 6 pm respectively.

If this information isn’t enough then feel free check out some apps such as Google Maps which show sunrise/sunset times based on GPS location data—or just ask someone who lives locally!

The best spot for stargazing? Haad Rin Beach Club during Full Moon Party time!

Conclusion

So to answer the question, I would say that the best place to see a sunset on Koh Phi Phi Island is on one of the viewpoints. There are many great viewpoints, but if you’re looking for an easy way to get there then Maya Bay or a longtail boat tour may be your best option.

The main advantage of viewing from above is that you can see all of Phi Phi’s beauty while also being close enough so as not miss out on anything happening down below (like getting splashed by some waves).
