What is the main beach in Phi Phi for eating, relaxing, and activities

Phi Phi island is one of the most beautiful places you can visit in Thailand. It’s a tropical paradise that boasts pristine beaches, crystal clear waters, and tropical flora, all set against a backdrop of towering cliffs and verdant jungle greenery.

There are two main beaches on Phi Phi: The northern beach is a gorgeous crescent of powder-soft sand flanked by towering verdant cliffs. This is the perfect place to spend a day relaxing on the beach, swimming, or snorkeling in crystal-clear waters. If you’re hungry, swing by one of the restaurants and have something to eat at their tables right on the sand!

The southern beach is smaller and more compact but just as pretty as the northern one; take some time out here to see some beautiful viewpoints from atop green hillsides overlooking this picturesque bay with its turquoise waters lapping gently against white sands beneath towering cliffs shrouded by lush jungle greenery.

Venture into this exotic paradise if you want more adventure because there are many hiking trails around here where you can go rock climbing (or even rappelling down steep cliff faces!). But if all you want at this moment is to relax, then find yourself at either one of these beaches and settle down for an unforgettable evening!

There are 2 main beaches in Phi Phi, each with its own distinct holiday vibe

There are two main beaches in Phi Phi, each with its own distinct holiday vibe. The southern beach is where most of the action and adventure take place. It’s a lively area with a certain buzz to it, making it perfect for people who want to relax during the day but party at night.

The northern beach caters more to those looking for a quiet holiday. There are no bars or restaurants on this side of the island, so don’t expect any late-night entertainment options when you stay here. However, if you’re looking for peace and quiet, this may be your ideal spot!

The northern beach

The northern beach PHI PHI

The northern beach is a gorgeous crescent of powder-soft sand flanked by towering verdant cliffs. It’s the main destination for Phi Phi Island visitors, and it’s easy to see why: the water here is crystal clear and perfect for snorkeling—you’ll find everything from clownfish to sea turtles swimming among coral reefs just offshore.

If you’re just looking for an idyllic place to relax, this beach has plenty of options—it’s great for sunbathing or exploring on foot and swimming along its pristine waters.

The other beaches on the island are also worth checking out; each one offers something different depending on what you’re looking for!

1. Relaxing on the beach, swimming, or snorkeling in crystal-clear waters

This is the perfect place to spend a day relaxing on the beach, swimming, or snorkeling in crystal-clear waters. The water is warm and clear, but watch out for currents if you are not an experienced swimmer. There are many places to eat on the beach, and some offer fresh seafood right off their boat!

One of our favorite places to snorkel is located near Maya Bay Beach Club (see below). You can find spots where tons of fish swim around you – even around your legs as you stand up! Make sure that when you go into these areas, no boats are passing by because they will stir up all of your fish friends.

2. Restaurants

If you’re hungry, swing by one of the restaurants and have a bite at their tables on the sand. You can also eat at tables on the road or, in some cases, on the beach. Some restaurants have tables for you to sit at, and others will serve as chairs only, so keep this in mind when choosing where you want to eat.

If all of this sounds like too much work for you (it really isn’t), there are plenty of food stalls along Railay Beach where they offer quick snacks such as fried rice and noodles with pork or chicken added. These are great options if time is limited or you just don’t feel like sitting down anywhere!

The southern beach

The southern beach is smaller and more compact but just as pretty as the northern beach. It’s a good place to relax and watch the sunset or dip in the water after it gets too dark for snorkeling on the other side of the island.

1. Short stroll down the road

The main beach in Phi Phi is called “Loh Dalum.” You can lounge on or swim in a long stretch of sand. There are also many restaurants on the beach where you can grab food and drinks while enjoying the sun setting over the water.

You can take a short stroll down the small road that runs parallel to the western side of this beach to see some beautiful viewpoints. On one side, there’s a lookout point with benches where guests can sit and watch the sunset over Thailand’s most popular island get swallowed up by darkness.

On the side, there are stairs leading up to an area overlooking Loh Dalum Bay which makes for an excellent place for watching sunrises. And then, farther along still, there’s yet another viewpoint for viewing both land-based and sea-based scenery.

2. Island’s interior

Venture into the island’s interior, and you’ll find lush jungle greenery home to many bird species. The tropical hillsides are dotted with plantations of coffee, tea, rubber trees, mangoes, and bananas. Take a leisurely walk through these hillsides, and amid the many shades of green, there are so many birds to be seen—from red-billed tropic birds to green peafowls. You’ll even see some rhinoceros hornbills flying overhead if you’re lucky!

It’s not just nature walks that await in Phi Phi; there is plenty to do on land if you want more action than relaxation.

The area has hiking trails suitable for beginners and experienced hikers. Still, if walking isn’t your thing, then there are plenty of other things to do besides hike: zip-lining through rainforests, taking boat rides around islands, renting jet skis (or bikes) on one of Phi Phi Don’s beaches, kayaking through caves along stunning coastlines…the list goes on!

And remember: if all this sounds like too much work, don’t forget about diving! If swimming isn’t your thing either, just watch other people do it while getting refreshed at one of many bars or restaurants on Loh Dalum beach or Maya Bay!

3. Go hiking or rock climbing

Take advantage of this exotic paradise to go hiking or rock climbing.

There are many reasons to get out on foot when not at the beach. You can hike up to Maya Bay, where the movie was filmed, or climb the rocks at Khai Niew Beach.

You don’t have to be a daredevil to enjoy rock climbing; it is a great way of keeping fit while enjoying yourself in this beautiful tropical island paradise.

If you’re more adventurous and want more challenging climbs, head to the mountains and explore some of the remote villages in Phuket’s National Park (just bring plenty of water!).

But if all you want is to relax and watch the sunset over Phi Phi Don island’s beauty, find yourself at either of these beaches and settle down for an unforgettable evening!

The south is good for activities and eating well; the north is better for relaxing

Conclusion

If you’re looking for a bit more adventure and activity, then the southern beach is perfect. But if all you want is to relax and watch the sunset over Phi Phi Don island’s beauty, find yourself at either of these beaches and settle down for an unforgettable evening!
